Hey, what's up, dogs? Good to see you! Sorry about the slowdown in updates recently. My human claims to have been busy. Tsk...this won't reflect well on her yearly evaluation. Thumbs down! (Er...if I had opposable thumbs, that is.)
But anyway...today's post is about something completely different from anything I've done before. This weekend, my human took me to MINEFAIRE, which is a convention for the popular video game Minecraft. If you don't know what a convention is, it's a very strange human custom where people gather in huge numbers to celebrate their common interest in a subject.
Anyway, here we go...Uh-oh. This is not a good start! Please tell me you bought the tickets in advance...
You did? OK, whew. That was close! Here we go...
Wow, look at all these people gathered at the main stage! The music was so loud my human could feel it thumping in her chest. Crazy humans...
Naturally, there were a lot of kids around. Some of them were adding to a Minecraft-themed Lego display...
...some were getting their faces painted like Minecraft characters...
...and
still others were helping to assemble the "world's largest Lego
puzzle"! Wow, that's going to be something to see when it's done.
And of course, there was merchandise. Some of it came in colorful cardboard boxes, like the ones below.

do they have a permit to keep all this ordnance here? I hope they have
the bomb squad on speed dial. I think I'm going to keep my
distance, just in case...)
Wait! Over there! Look! I see fellow stuffies!
There were just TONS of them waiting to go home with some lucky human...
I made a new friend! I named him Trigger the Minecraft horse. Hey, do you mind if I take your picture for my blog?
"Neigh!"
I guess that means "Nay," or "no" in standard English. Sweet! Smile for the camera...
I made another new friend--a fellow canine this time. This is Rufus. Hey, how's it been, waiting around for a human to adopt you?
"Ruff!"
I know, it can be tough. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll find a good home soon. Stay positive!
Well, that's all for now, folks. I hope you enjoyed my first-ever video game convention. It's got me thinking...maybe I should find some other bacon enthusiasts and create a Bacon-themed convention. What do you think?..

I am actually not surprised by this story at all, since we dogs have amazing noses. I think it's much more newsworthy that the dog didn't EAT the Whopper before his human could.

Hey, what's up, dogs? We got an envelope in the mail the other day from Ajdin. It's our prize from the 2018 Stuffie Winter Olympics DOGSLEDDING event.
Wow...look at that! Gold medals! I didn't think you could send those in the regular mail. And uninsured, no less. Gutsy move, Ajdin.
Spunky says he wants to talk to the Olympic Committee about the...um...size discrepancy between his medal and the rest.

Oh my gosh. My human just took me on the most amazing field trip! You thought Europe was amazing? Well, check THIS out!...
Yes, you read that right...it's a BEEF JERKY outlet store. All kinds of meat, dried and salted and spiced and smoked. Bacon jerky? Yes please!
Mix and match beef sticks, huh? Okay, I'll take one of these...and one of those...
These barrels are for sampling the different types of jerky they have on sale. I think I'll hang out here for a while.
And for my fish-loving friends, they also sell smoked salmon!
Oops. Should have put a "drool alert" at the top of this post. Oh well...

Hey, what's up, dogs? Just a quick post to wish you all a very Happy Chinese New Year. This year is an especially important Chinese New Year, because it's the Year of the DOG!
It's about darn time! My human tells me that a Dog Year only comes around every twelve years.
According to the Internet, people born during the Year of the Dog are honest, friendly, faithful, loyal, and smart. Yeah...that sounds very dog-like to me.
So...ahem. Since this is the Year of the Dog, I should be getting extra special treatment for a whole year, right? Like more bacon-flavored treats, and more tummy rubs? I'll have to remind my human about this. I think I have a good case.

Hey, what's up, dogs? Today I'm finishing up the series of posts about my trip to Europe. We ended the vacation by visiting two famous towns in Germany.
First was Dresden, where we saw the beautiful gardens of Dresden Palace...
On the outer wall of Dresden Palace, there's a mural called the Fuerstenzug, or the Procession of Princes. It depicts 35 of the noblemen, dukes, and kings who ruled Saxony.
There are approximately 23,000 porcelain tiles in the mural, making it the largest piece of porcelain tile artwork in the world. That's a lot of tiles!
After that, we headed to Berlin, where we saw the remnants of the historic Berlin Wall. It separated East and West Berlin for almost 30 years, until it was opened in 1989...
Here's a photo of the famous "Checkpoint Charlie," which was the best-known crossing point between East and West Berlin:
It turns out (and my bear friends will be happy to know this) that Berlin's mascot is the bear! We saw bears almost everywhere we went in Berlin...
Maybe the city should be renamed "Bearlin" instead of "Berlin"?...
