Birthday mail!

Hey, what's up, dogs?  More mail!  My human admits to being jealous of the amount of mail I get.  I'm lucky to have so many friends sending me stuff.

Anyway...today it's from Sandy.   Look at all the adorable dog stickers!  The one on the bottom right bears an uncanny resemblance to Patch, don't you think?

And inside...it's a birthday wish!  Thanks, Sandy!

We also received an animated birthday e-card from Little Fox!  Unfortunately, my human is not smart enough to figure out how to post a picture of it here on the blog.  (That's definitely going to hurt her annual performance evaluation.)  Thank you just the same, L.F.!

Season's greetings!

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Got some mail recently from my blog pals.  First up is Little Fox, who is officially my first stuffie friend to ring in the holiday season with this custom-made card:

And on the back, he asks a question:  "Do you know where I'm at in this pic?"

Why, yes...yes I do.  It looks like Joshua Tree National Park, which was quite a hit with the stuffie crowd this season.  Little Fox went there first, and I drove through it later in the year...and while I was there, I happened to run into Ajdin.  Thanks for the card, L.F.!

And speaking of Ajdin, here's our bear buddy's holiday card.  Looks like surf's up for Santa!  Hope he didn't forget the sunscreen...

Thanks, Ajdin!  Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy leading up to the holidays.

Bacon in the mail!

Hey, what's up, dogs?  I got a special package from Ajdin a couple of weeks ago.  It's a bacon sticker!  Nice.  I think I'll frame it and hang it where I can stare at my favorite thing all day.

I also got a postcard from our pal Little Fox.  It's from Lombard Street, California.  My human has been to this street...it's a VERY steep and winding road down one of San Francisco's many hills.  I guess this means L.F. visited San Fran recently?

In any case, he thanks us for the postcard we sent him from our Arizona/California trip.  You're very welcome, L.F.  Thanks for your postcard too!

Dog in the Desert, Part 2...

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Last time I posted, I was telling you about my trip to Arizona.

If you've been following my pal Ajdin's blog, you might have seen that he took a very similar trip.  In fact, we bumped into each other at the Grand Canyon.  Small world, isn't it?...

Here we are at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.  It's grand, all right!  I can't help wondering what the first explorers of this area must have thought when they found this landscape.

After spending several hours here, we headed for Williams, AZ.  This involved driving on the famous Route 66.  Ever heard the song that goes, "Get your kicks on Route 66"?  Yup, that's the one.

It's impossible to forget where you are in this town, because road signs abound....

There were a lot of cute stores and souvenir shops in town.  One of the stores was selling dog-themed stuff.  The proprietor of this store told us that she routinely fosters 6 or 7 rescue dogs AT A TIME, and a portion of her shop's proceeds goes to the local dog shelters.  Now that's a cause I can get behind!

Another store...

Unfortunately they didn't have my name.  Bummer.

...Hey, look at this sign:

Wow.  Er....That's a really strong declaration of love.  I'm not sure whether I'll ever be ready to make that kind of statement!

Later that evening, we stopped at this place to pick up dinner.  It's called The Little Chicken Spot.  Everything they serve contains--you guessed it--chicken.  Something tells me Little Fox would have enjoyed it.

In keeping with the nostalgic feel of this town, there were a bunch of classic cars parked along the main street.

Look at this one--I think it's a Ford Fairlane.  I love this color; it really sets off my fur!  Take a picture for me, will you?

Nice.  Okay, take one more, just in case the first one was blurry.

--Wait, what?  Hey!  I've been photobombed by a bear!  Ajdin, we've got to stop meeting like this.  People will start to talk...

Hope you enjoyed Part 2 of Dog in the Desert.  Onward to our next destination...

Some on-time mail and some very overdue mail.

Hey, what's up, dogs?  I'm back again!  I know, quite unusual for me to post twice in a week, but that's what happens when you're sheltering in place.

Today I have three pieces of mail to show you.  Two of them are being posted very late, thanks to my human.  Sandy Bear sent me a postcard in January (yes, JANUARY) about his vacation to Mexico.  And Ajdin sent me a postcard in December (yes, DECEMBER) about his visit to the Air Force Academy in Colorado.  Sigh...My human will definitely lose points for "Blog Maintenance" on the end-of-year evaluation.

Happily, I'm posting the last card right on time...actually, a few days early.  It's from Little Fox...a birthday card, "from one canine to another."
Oooo....look at that fancy font.  Thanks, L.F.!  You're a "pawsome" pal.

That's it for now.  Stay safe and healthy, everyone.  See you next time...

Postcards!

Hey, what's up, dogs?  I know, I know...where have I been?  My human has been slacking with posts recently.  I would advertise for a new assistant, but my current assistant is also in charge of feeding me, so I'm a bit reluctant to rock the boat...

Anyway...we've received a couple of postcards from
Sandy and Little Fox.  (We also received a card from Ajdin from his trip to Colorado earlier this summer, but my assistant seems to have *ahem* misplaced it.  Sigh.)

Hopefully I'll get to send some postcards of my own soon from an exotic location!  Hope everyone is having a good summer...

Birthday cards

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Yes, it has been a while since my last post!  A few days ago some birthday cards came in the mail for me, and they're super cute.  See below...

Here we have one from our pal Ajdin, who also sent a sheet of dog-themed stickers along with the cards.  Nice...that bear knows what I like!

And here's a great card from Little Fox which absolutely suits me.  Look at all the different breeds of dogs represented on the card.  I see a German Shepherd, a Dalmatian, and a Dachshund, for starters.  Thanks, L.F.!

Thanks to all of you for the birthday wishes!

Now I'm going to pester my human to start updating the blog more frequently.  Hopefully we'll see you again in the not-so-distant future...

Mail and a snack

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Look what I found in the store the other day:
Scottie Dog Shortbread cookies!  Aren't they cute?

Apparently my human wants a closer look.  Yeah!  What do you think?

….Really?  You had to decapitate it with the first bite? (Sigh)  Humans.

Tell you what...next time you can get me human-shaped cookies, and I'll bite off their heads.  That's only fair, right?

Hey, while I have you all here, we got a postcard from Little Fox, who was visiting Tahoe.  He writes:
"Tahoe was amazing!  Scenery, salmon, and hiking...just need to add in Artisanal Bacon.  Hope all is well!"
Yes indeed...Artisanal Bacon makes everything better.  Thanks for the postcard Little Fox!
