Bacon in the mail!

Hey, what's up, dogs?  I got a special package from Ajdin a couple of weeks ago.  It's a bacon sticker!  Nice.  I think I'll frame it and hang it where I can stare at my favorite thing all day.

I also got a postcard from our pal Little Fox.  It's from Lombard Street, California.  My human has been to this street...it's a VERY steep and winding road down one of San Francisco's many hills.  I guess this means L.F. visited San Fran recently?

In any case, he thanks us for the postcard we sent him from our Arizona/California trip.  You're very welcome, L.F.  Thanks for your postcard too!

Postcard from Devil's Tower...

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Catching up with some correspondence...I received this postcard from Jerry and Ben last month, but didn't get around to posting it till now.

I have never been to the Black Hills or Devil's Tower...time to visit Wikipedia!

Hmmm...looks like our intrepid bear friends must have been in South Dakota and Wyoming.  Gotta love those wide open spaces!

Thanks for the postcard, you guys!

Sandy's postcard novel

Hey, what's up, dogs?  We got a whole STACK of postcards from Sandy in the mail recently...He explained that he's decluttering and trying to use up his stash.  Good idea!  He's given us quite a selection here...
He writes, "How are things going down in TX?  We have read that you guys are starting to reopen things."  --Yes, this is true.  We are slowly and cautiously starting to open up again, although most people are still social distancing and wearing masks in public.

Sandy also mentions that "My humans have gone to a...gasp...plant-based diet!" and he wants to know if I have an opinion on that.  Well, I personally would not be able to follow a meatless meal plan, but everyone's gotta do what's best for them.

Speaking of which...I hope the rumored shortages of meat remain just that--rumors!  Otherwise I will be one panicky pooch...

Anyway, thanks for the postcards Sandy!  Always good to get mail from my blog friends, especially when we're shut inside...

Some on-time mail and some very overdue mail.

Hey, what's up, dogs?  I'm back again!  I know, quite unusual for me to post twice in a week, but that's what happens when you're sheltering in place.

Today I have three pieces of mail to show you.  Two of them are being posted very late, thanks to my human.  Sandy Bear sent me a postcard in January (yes, JANUARY) about his vacation to Mexico.  And Ajdin sent me a postcard in December (yes, DECEMBER) about his visit to the Air Force Academy in Colorado.  Sigh...My human will definitely lose points for "Blog Maintenance" on the end-of-year evaluation.

Happily, I'm posting the last card right on time...actually, a few days early.  It's from Little Fox...a birthday card, "from one canine to another."
Oooo....look at that fancy font.  Thanks, L.F.!  You're a "pawsome" pal.

That's it for now.  Stay safe and healthy, everyone.  See you next time...

Postcards!

Hey, what's up, dogs?  I know, I know...where have I been?  My human has been slacking with posts recently.  I would advertise for a new assistant, but my current assistant is also in charge of feeding me, so I'm a bit reluctant to rock the boat...

Anyway...we've received a couple of postcards from
Sandy and Little Fox.  (We also received a card from Ajdin from his trip to Colorado earlier this summer, but my assistant seems to have *ahem* misplaced it.  Sigh.)

Hopefully I'll get to send some postcards of my own soon from an exotic location!  Hope everyone is having a good summer...

Mail and a snack

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Look what I found in the store the other day:
Scottie Dog Shortbread cookies!  Aren't they cute?

Apparently my human wants a closer look.  Yeah!  What do you think?

….Really?  You had to decapitate it with the first bite? (Sigh)  Humans.

Tell you what...next time you can get me human-shaped cookies, and I'll bite off their heads.  That's only fair, right?

Hey, while I have you all here, we got a postcard from Little Fox, who was visiting Tahoe.  He writes:
"Tahoe was amazing!  Scenery, salmon, and hiking...just need to add in Artisanal Bacon.  Hope all is well!"
Yes indeed...Artisanal Bacon makes everything better.  Thanks for the postcard Little Fox!

Postcard from LF

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Mail call!

Today it's Little Fox with a postcard from the Smoky Mountains.  He writes, "Lots of history and hiking.  There is something to do here for you and your crew!"

Thanks LF!  I will try to persuade my human to take a trip over that way sometime...

An out of this world postcard

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Recently got a postcard from our friend Ajdin, who went to the Air and Space Museum and saw the Space Shuttle Discovery.
I wonder how his bid to become an astrobear is going?  I know it's a very competitive selection process, and there's a lot of rigorous training involved.  I'll keep my paws crossed for you, buddy!

Till next time...

Angus' costume contest prize

Hey, what's up, dogs?  My human handed me a piece of mail a few days ago...
So, being a logical dog, I opened it.

Oh hey, this is Jerry and Ben's prize package for Grandpa Angus' Halloween costume entry!  Hey Grandpa!

"What is it, laddie?" Grandpa asked.

You've got mail!

Look, here's a postcard of Minnesota...organized by regional "hot dishes."  Wow.  I never knew Minnesota was casserole country.

There's also a Starbucks gift card.

"Eh, how thoughtful!" Grandpa said.  "Now I can get a caffeinated treat.  Care to share, laddie?"

Er...thanks, Grandpa, but I'd better pass.  Caffeine doesn't really agree with me.

Thanks again, Jerry and Ben, for hosting the contest!  See you next time...

"Dog days" postcard

Hey, what's up, dogs?  We hereby interrupt this world crisis to bring you..

...a postcard of Vancouver from Sandy!  He writes:  "It's hard work, supervising the humans, and every bear needs a break during the dog days of summer.  Why are they called 'dog days'?"

Why, indeed?  I was curious as well, so I looked it up online:

"The term indicates a period between July 3 and August 11 when the Dog Star, Sirius, rises at the same time or near the same time as the sun in the Northern hemisphere."

Wow, that's cool!  I learned something new today.  Thanks, Sandy, for the postcard and the learning opportunity!

Mail from Fantastic Mr. Fox.

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Seems all my blog friends are traveling recently.  First Jerry and Ben went off to sunny Puerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrto Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrico.

Then our pal Little Fox done gone off prospectin' in them thar rocky red hills.  Utah, to be more specific--see below.
Great postcard, LF!  Thanks!

*Ahem.*  I sure wish I could *ahem* go on a trip somewhere cool like those guys did. If only my human would *ahem* take the hint...

See you again soon!

Postcard!

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Look what I received in the mail a few days ago.

It's from Jerry and Ben!  They recently took a vacation to beautiful, sunny Puerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrto Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrico.

My human seems jealous of my ability to rrrrrrrrrrroll my Rrrrrrrrrrrrr's.  Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreally?  You can't rrrrrrrrrroll them?  Therrrrrrrrrre's nothing to it.  Just rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrelax....

....Nope.  Not happening.  My poorrrrrrrrrrr human.  Ah well, nobody's perrrrrrrrrrrrfect.

(Also...please rrrrrrrrrrrrrememberrrrrrrrrrrrrr...one week frrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrom today is the deadline for the K-9 Comedy Contest.  Haven't had many entrrrrrrries yet, but you still have time!)

See you laterrrrrrrrrr...

Mail call.

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Today we got a couple of pieces of mail from our friend Ajdin.  First up, a postcard from his recent road trip to Chincoteague Island, Virginia.  I hear that place is famous for its wild ponies.  Nice!

The second piece of mail is a package that bears a postmark from Singapore.  What??  Singapore?  When did he visit there?...

Oh, I see now.  He sent us a prize for our Stuffie Olympics bronze medal finish...and it looks like it was mail-ordered from Singapore.

It's a little notebook that says, "The best therapist has fur and four legs."

I couldn't agree more!  I know a certain furry,  four-legged psychotherapist who could use this book to record his patient notes....

Anyway, thanks for the mail, Ajdin!  See you next time, everyone!

Mail from Ajdin

Hey dogs, what's up?  Got some mail to share with you today.  Ajdin sent an Elvis postcard from his recent trip to Graceland.

He also sent along our prize from the summer photo contest that he sponsored:  a sheet of SALMON WARS stickers, and a package of Gummi Bears!  Yum.

I wonder why they don't make Gummi Dogs?  Meh...on second thought, that doesn't sound too appetizing.

I've got a lot of catch-up posting to do, so stay tuned...more soon...

Mail call!

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Taking a brief break from the 4H fair series to acknowledge some mail we received in the last month.  Sorry I'm running so late, but my human grandparents are moving, and my human has had a tight schedule recently.

Anyway...here we are.  We have two postcards...

One's from Little Fox's trip to San Francisco.  There's the Golden Gate Bridge.  What beautiful flowers!

And this one is from Ajdin's trip to Ohio.  Who knew so many U.S. Presidents came from Ohio?  There's William Harrison, Ulysses S. Grant, Rutherford B. Hayes, James Garfield, Benjamin Harrison, William McKinley, William Taft, and Warren Harding.  Very educational postcard, Ajdin!
Sigh.  All my friends go to such interesting places.  I wonder when I'll be able to take a trip of my own?
