Runs in the family.

Hey, what's up, dogs?  It's a beautiful day and I'm just strolling along.   Droop-a-dee-doo-dah, Droop-a-dee-ay...

Oh, hi, Grandpa.  ...My, oh, my, what a wonderful...

Wait!  Grandpa!

"Eh?  What is it, laddie?"

Your tail!

"Me tail?"  Grandpa asked, perplexed.  "What about me tail?"

The right!  It bends to the right!
"Aye, so it does," Grandpa Angus agreed.

I have it too!  See?

Spunky, Patch, and I learned about this earlier this year.  When a dog's tail wags to the right, it means they're a very happy and friendly dog.

So...I guess it runs in the family?

"Eh, incredible, laddie!" Grandpa exclaimed.  "And here I always thought it was from me rheumatism.  But now that I think about it...it looked that way even when I was a wee pup."

Looks like Grandpa Angus and I have something in common!  Hope you have a good week, everyone.  And remember...wag to the right!

What breed of dog am I?...

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Today we happened to be browsing the Internet and came across a picture that looked remarkably like Patch:

The caption read: "English Springer Spaniel."

Patch!  You're English?

"Err...I guess so," Patch said.

How do you feel about crumpets and tea?

Patch looked confused.  "What's that?"

A type of snack.

"Oh.  Then I'm in favor of it."

This got me wondering:  What breed of dog is Spunky?  Obviously he's a miniature--

"STOP.  RIGHT.  THERE," Spunky warned.

Oops.  Heh-heh...Sorry.

And then there's me.  I have to admit, I have something of an identity crisis.  I've never been able to figure out what breed of dog I am.  I do like fire trucks...maybe I'm a spotless Dalmatian?...

If anybody has any ideas on what breed of dog I am, please leave your insights in the comments below.
Thanks!

You've got mail!...

Hey, what's up, dogs?  I'm receiving more and more mail lately, and I wanted to share it with you.  Recently we got a package with a little drawing of two bears on the back, as shown here:

This can only mean it's from Jerry and Ben!  Wow, they sent a certificate and candy prizes from the Halloween costume contest they sponsored.  Hot diggity dog!

There's also a sheet of stickers, a pencil, and a jack-o-lantern eraser.  That's so cool!  Thanks guys.

And Sandy sent a postcard with a picture of the Yukon.  He mentions that we stuffies should go there and pan for gold.  Gold => money => ability to buy bacon, so I'm all for it.  When do we leave Sandy?...

Happy Halloween!

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Just a quick post to wish you all a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Here's a picture of my costume.  This year I decided to dress up as...THE "BARK" KNIGHT.

Apparently it was well received.  A few days ago, Jerry and Ben notified me that I'd won a prize in their Annual Halloween Costume Contest!  Thanks very much guys!

Hope everybody has a very fun and very safe Halloween this year...

4H show--What dogs can do...plus, my favorite part of the fair

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Just wanted to finish up our 4H festival thread, which was interrupted when my human unexpectedly took Spunky and me on our trip to San Antonio.

Anyway, at the 4H fair, there was a tent specifically for dog-related activities:  obedience testing and relays, agility races, and so on.

Hmmm.  The other dogs are all impressive, in their own way.  But I bet none of them can write a blog!

(*grrrrrooooooooowwwwwwwlllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll*)

"Good heavens!" Grandpa Angus exclaimed.  "What was that?"

Whoops...sorry.  That was my stomach.  I guess I'm getting hungry.

"Well, let's hurry and get you some grub, laddie!" Grandpa said.

So we headed for the midway and the food stands, checking out some more sights along the way.  We saw some stuffies waiting to go home with their new owners...

And also a juggler.  He was fun to watch.  I've never tried doing this, but Ajdin has done it before

Here's where all the little humans were playing...

And finally, we came to our destination:  the food stands.

"So, what would you like, laddie?" Grandpa asked.

Oh my gosh.  There are so many choices!  I don't know what I should eat first!

Cheesesteak sounds good.  Or maybe I'll have meatballs.  Or...

Wait, wait, WAIT.  What is THAT over there???....
Oh...my...goodness.  These are the doggone biggest bones I've ever seen.  Hey, Grandpa!  You gotta see  this!

Grandpa's eyes grew wide.

"Oh my stars!" he exclaimed.

I can't think of a better way to end our 4H experience than with a huge, juicy, meaty bone.  I'm going to have to sign off for now, because I'm drooling too much to talk...but we'll see you next time!  Hope you enjoyed!
