Mail call

Hey, what's up, dogs?  It's been a while since my last post...I apologize for the delay.  Just wanted to acknowledge some mail I got over the last few weeks from Sandy, and Sandy's pal Baer.  

The first postcard is from Sandy's trip to London.  Nice!  You can see the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament.  It says here they had linguine with carbonara sauce, which contains BACON.  I'm a little jealous...

And here's a card from Sandy's pal Baer.  It shows an "array" of hedgehogs.  Never knew that was the term!

A group of bears is called a "sloth" or "sleuth"?  The only "Sleuth of Bears" I know is Sherlock Sandy...

So apparently I should be referring to myself, Patch, Spunky, and Grandpa as a "kennel" of dogs, rather than a "pack."  I'll have to keep that in mind.  Very interesting!

Anyway, I hope everyone is enjoying their summer.  Hopefully I'll have some interesting things to post about in the near future!  So long for now...

 

  

Tribute to a fellow canine

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Unfortunately I have some sad news to report...my great-aunt's dog Magic recently passed away.  She had been battling a tumor for some time and it just kept getting bigger.  In the last few weeks she had started to show signs of fatigue and pain, so my great-aunt decided it was time to put her to sleep.  

Here are some pictures of her in happier times:

She was a wonderful companion to my great-aunt and will be missed.  We salute you, Magic!

Birthday cards

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Yes, it has been a while since my last post!  A few days ago some birthday cards came in the mail for me, and they're super cute.  See below... 

Here we have one from our pal Ajdin, who also sent a sheet of dog-themed stickers along with the cards.  Nice...that bear knows what I like!

And here's a great card from Little Fox which absolutely suits me.  Look at all the different breeds of dogs represented on the card.  I see a German Shepherd, a Dalmatian, and a Dachshund, for starters.  Thanks, L.F.!

Thanks to all of you for the birthday wishes!  

Now I'm going to pester my human to start updating the blog more frequently.  Hopefully we'll see you again in the not-so-distant future...

The monument of Chicken Pizza...er, Chichen Itza

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Well, this is it...the last stop on my Mexican vacation.  I have it on good authority from my new towel animal friends that this spot has something to do with Chicken Pizza.  

...Huh?  What's that, you say?...

Oh.  Um...My human has just informed me that the name of this site is "Chichen Itza," not to be confused with "Chicken Pizza."  

Sigh.  That's a shame.  I was really looking forward to having some Chicken Pizza for lunch.  Don't you agree, Ajdin? 

"I'd prefer salmon pizza," Ajdin replied.  "But this place has amazing history.  That's cool, right?" 

True.

"And you're traveling in Mexico," Ajdin added.  "That's cool, too."

True again.

"AND...you're with me!" Ajdin finished.  

That's the coolest part!

It's been a very fun vacation here in Mexico!  Time to to get back on the boat and head home.  I wonder where my next trip will take me?...

Towel animals...and Chicken Pizza?...

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Still reporting on my Mexican cruise.  On one of our days at sea, my human and I happened upon what can only be described as a Towel Animal Convention.  Just look at all the towel animals lounging by the pool!

A couple of them found their way into our cabin and hung out with Ajdin and me.  We struck up a conversation.

So hey, Mr. Frog...I know we already saw Cozumel, but what else should I expect from this Mexican cruise?

"Ribbit.  Well, our last port of call will give you an opportunity to check out some Chicken Pizza.  Or so I've heard.  Ribbit."

Chicken Pizza?  All right!!  That sounds delicious.  I'm looking forward to it!

Viva Mexico!

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Last time I posted, I was on a cruise ship somewhere in the middle of the ocean, with no clue as to my destination.  

But what's this?  I think we're coming into port.  Land ho!  

This is Cozumel, Mexico!  

The weather's great today!  Look at this gorgeous beach...you can see our cruise ship, the Carnival Valor, in the background.  

When we got back to our cabin on the ship, there was a surprise waiting for us.  Not only had our cabin attendant made a towel animal friend...but we found an actual stuffie friend there, too!  

Yes, it's our pal Ajdin.  Apparently my human neglected to tell me we were meeting him for this trip.  It's not the first time my secretary has forgotten this very important detail, either.  (Grumble, grumble.)

But anyway...glad to see you, Ajdin!  Onward with our trip...

Just cruisin'...

Hey...uh...what's up, dogs?  I'm a little disoriented today...my human recently bundled me into a backpack without explaining anything, and the next thing I knew, I was adrift in the middle of the ocean!  Observe...

Apparently this is the deck of a cruise ship.  Well, okay, good...at least we've located the life preserver.  Hopefully we won't need it, but it never hurts to be prepared.

(Speaking of prepared...Hey, secretary!  Why didn't you tell me we were traveling?  I didn't pack!  Expect a pay cut when we get back!

...What's that?  You packed me a bag?  Oh.  Whew.  Never mind the pay cut.)

This ship is decorated for Christmas.  There's a tree and lights and gingerbread houses.  And there's music playing all the time.  Very festive.

Aha...this must be the name of the ship.  So we're on the Carnival Valor, eh?  That's one mystery solved.  But I still don't know our destination.  Any guesses, folks?...
