Hey, what's up, dogs?  Mail call!  

Today it's Little Fox with a postcard from the Smoky Mountains.  He writes, "Lots of history and hiking.  There is something to do here for you and your crew!"

Thanks LF!  I will try to persuade my human to take a trip over that way sometime...

A mysterious project

...Uh, why are you staring at me so intently?

Hey...uh, what's up, dogs.  My human is behaving somewhat strangely today, studying me very closely from all angles. 

--What??  What are you looking at??  And why are you playing with clay??

You're being very mysterious.  All right, fine, keep your secrets.  I'll figure it out for myself.

Hmm...wire.  For some kind of support or framework, I guess? 

Interesting.  So that squashed bean-looking shape goes on top? 

This reminds me of something.  I can't put my paw on it right now, but it definitely reminds me of something.

What's this? One last white piece?

Ohhhhh...it's a tail!  I get it now.

Hey, why did you place the tail so far to the right--oh.  OOOOOHH.

Now I understand.  Are you entering Ajdin's Art Contest for Humans, by any chance?...

Okay, that's cool.  Just remember to pay my sculpture-sitting fee in bacon if you win anything, all right?...

 

A dog-safe dessert

Hey, what's up, dogs?  I hope you're all having a great summer.

...Eh?  What's this?  

My human just plunked this plate down in front of me.  Some sort of...pastry?  Looks kinda exotic.  

Hey, Grandpa?  Do you have any idea what this is?  

"Ohhhhh, yes, laddie.  If I'm not mistaken, this is an assortment of BARKlava."

BARKla-what?

"BARKlava, laddie.  It's a Greek or Middle Eastern dessert.  It's delicious."

Patch said, "Did somebody say...dessert?"

"A dessert?"  Spunky sounded concerned.  "Does it contain any chocolate?  'Cause you know that's not good for us dogs."

"No, lads, that's the beauty of it!  This BARKlava contains no chocolate.  Finally, a dessert we can eat safely."

Oh wow.  Our human must be thinking ahead to the annual performance evaluation.  Well, let's dig in and try it, shall we?
