Christmas mail and decorations

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Just a quick note to wish everyone a MERRY CHRISTMAS!  I've been supervising the decorating process around the house, and things look pretty good.  Observe...

I also want to share some stuffie mail we got recently.  I think I got more Christmas cards than my human again this year.  Here's one from Little Fox...

...and another from Jerry and Ben...
...and also one from Ajdin.  He used one of his special custom postage stamps on the envelope.  Nice!

I hope everybody has a wonderful holiday and a very happy New Year.  My pack and I will see you in 2019 with more adventures!

Photos from Thanksgiving

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

My pack and I had a great time.  We watched the National Dog Show on television...
...and then later that day, we had a HUGE feast!

Look at this turkey!  Just staring at this photo makes my mouth water again.

How many days until next Thanksgiving?....

Mail call

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Jerry and Ben have sent a card and a prize for my participation in their Halloween costume contest.

I really like the card.  Those trick-or-treaters look petrified.  And there's a Starbucks gift card for me, so I can get a (non-caffeinated) treat.

Thanks guys!  You always do a great job hosting the contest...

Happy Halloween!

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Happy Halloween to everybody!
This year I'm dressed up as Gondolier Droopy.  I've been practicing my opera!  O doggo mio…
Unfortunately, I seem to be missing a gondola.  If anyone has one that I can borrow, please contact me at your earliest convenience.  Grazie, grazie!

Sandcastle contest

Hey, what's up, dogs?  A couple of weekends ago, my human took me to a very busy beach in Galveston, Texas, to see a Sandcastle Building Competition sponsored by the American Institute of Architects

The entry lines were very long, but once we got in, we saw some incredible sandcastles!

This one is a replica of the Downtown Houston skyline.
Some more Houston spirit here...You can see the logos of the Houston Astros, Houston Rockets, and the Houston Texans!
And this sandcastle below is a tongue-in-cheek representation of Houston highway traffic...
There were a lot of world landmarks represented in the competition.  For example, the Egyptian pyramids...
...Pompeii, Italy...

...and the city of Petra, in Jordan.  This city was featured in the movie Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.  Our archaeologist friend Little Fox should take a picture here!

This one is my personal favorite.  It represents the replacement of brick-and-mortar establishments (like Toys 'R' Us!) by Amazon.

There was also a tribute to the Beatles, appropriately entitled "Yellow Submarine."
And here is the first-place winner, which was the tallest and most detailed of all the sandcastles on the beach.  They did a great job!

I'm amazed that they were able to build such a beautiful display in just under 7 hours!

All right, that's the end of my sandcastle adventure.  Time to head home and wash the sand off my paws...Till next time, everybody!

Mail and a snack

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Look what I found in the store the other day:
Scottie Dog Shortbread cookies!  Aren't they cute?

Apparently my human wants a closer look.  Yeah!  What do you think?

….Really?  You had to decapitate it with the first bite? (Sigh)  Humans.

Tell you what...next time you can get me human-shaped cookies, and I'll bite off their heads.  That's only fair, right?

Hey, while I have you all here, we got a postcard from Little Fox, who was visiting Tahoe.  He writes:
"Tahoe was amazing!  Scenery, salmon, and hiking...just need to add in Artisanal Bacon.  Hope all is well!"
Yes indeed...Artisanal Bacon makes everything better.  Thanks for the postcard Little Fox!

A heroic dog

Hey, what's up, dogs?  I saw this article in the news a couple of weeks ago, and it made me proud to be a canine:

What's your favorite heroic dog story?

Postcard from LF

Hey, what's up, dogs?  Mail call!

Today it's Little Fox with a postcard from the Smoky Mountains.  He writes, "Lots of history and hiking.  There is something to do here for you and your crew!"

Thanks LF!  I will try to persuade my human to take a trip over that way sometime...

A mysterious project

...Uh, why are you staring at me so intently?

Hey...uh, what's up, dogs.  My human is behaving somewhat strangely today, studying me very closely from all angles.

--What??  What are you looking at??  And why are you playing with clay??

You're being very mysterious.  All right, fine, keep your secrets.  I'll figure it out for myself.

Hmm...wire.  For some kind of support or framework, I guess?

Interesting.  So that squashed bean-looking shape goes on top?

This reminds me of something.  I can't put my paw on it right now, but it definitely reminds me of something.

What's this? One last white piece?

Ohhhhh...it's a tail!  I get it now.

Hey, why did you place the tail so far to the right--oh.  OOOOOHH.
Now I understand.  Are you entering Ajdin's Art Contest for Humans, by any chance?...
Okay, that's cool.  Just remember to pay my sculpture-sitting fee in bacon if you win anything, all right?...
